Golden by Look
1xRun: Tell us a bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Look: This print is part of a cycle of six canvases I painted for a show in Mexico City. The cycle of six canvases is called: “… It was all green instead”, and this is the canvas “Golden”. Two of the six canvases are gone but the rest is still for sale as the original “Golden” canvas still is.
1xRun: What materials were used to create this piece with?
Look: The original was painted using Acrylics on canvas.
1xRun: When was this piece created and how ling did it take to complete?
Look: I painted them in October 2013. It took me around five days to paint that one and about 4 or 5 weeks to paint them all.
1xRun: Anything immediate you would like us to highlight?
Look: Check the pattern on the clothes.
1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Look: I had an idea about a post-apocalyptic setting in a fake jungle in an adventure-park with a native couple who is praying to a golden predator drone which is fallen from the sky.
1xRun: Describe the piece in one gut reaction word.
1xRun: Bring us up to speed on what you’ve been up to in your last release?
Look: In the last releases I had loads of drawings and a screen print of a hippie girl chilling in the water.
1xRun: Any big recent shows or events that you’ve had?
Look: I had a show in December in Mexico and will have my next one in Vienna. In the meantime I’ve been working on some jobs at my design agency, Peachbeach here in Berlin.
1xRun: Any recent murals or travel that you participated in?
Look: I was painting loads of smaller murals here in Berlin just for the fun of it. Festival season just started.
1xRun: Any artists that have been inspiring you lately?
Look: I think all members of the weird crew are still inspiring.
